I have a tough time falling asleep and I usually find myself playing with my phone a good hour or two even after I am laying in bed. Typically I read whatever Ebook I recently purchased or scroll through Facebook, but yesterday I decided to update a few apps and check some accounts. Before I could download or enter an account I had to enter my password. Now that is obviously nothing new, but it got me thinking of how much I hate having to do it every time (I don't save my passwords) especially since my passwords are not your standard dictionary word.
If I am bothered by such a thing than surely non-technical folks must be too. Weak passwords are again nothing new, but I would be interested to see if we see even more weak passwords being used just because users hate entering them in through their mobile device. Some sites have done a good job at enforcing complexity within user passwords, but there are still obvious patterns that are used by those who don't care or don't understand the benefits to a strong password.
I personally have not compromised my security by creating a weak password on any of my accounts, but it has certainly crossed my mind. It is scary to think that a device that holds your bank account information, credit cards, email, etc. could be compromised because you decided to take the lazy way out for the sake of hitting less keys on your mini keyboard.
